Text notification different now?

Hi there. Text messages used to display some of the message on the screen. Now, all I get is the sender with an arrow. I have to go into the message every time with the buttons on the watch. Did I accidentally change something? I like being able to quickly read the message on my watch, but now it is not as convenient.

It is paired with a Samsung S7

Mine has the same behavior now and I prefer the other way too.

Same problem for me now, I'm not able to quick-read the preview of the message. What is strange enough, when you get a second message from the same sender it shows you the contents.
I see it as a bug.

New info after chatting with support Agent. The Messaging client makes a difference. I do not use the default Samsung messenger. I use Textra. If I switch the the samsung messaging client, the text appears on the watch.

Bummer. I hate the Samsung one.

I've always used whatsapp and it used to display messages properly. Now the first notification shows as "1 new message" and the ones after that show the actual text.
It's been notified to Garmin but they really don't care about user experience, just selling the next watch model.
