Bluetooth keeps disconnecting and reconnecting from Motorola Moto G

For the last 5 months I've been unable to use my 235 as a smart watch as I can't get a stable Bluetooth connection with my phone.
It can go a few hours connected then suddenly starts disconnecting and reconnecting.
I've pretty much shelved the 235 as a smart watch or activity tracker and use it as a GPS watch only.
My phone and the 235 are both up to date and have had a few updates since this issue.
Any advice on what to do?

    also sometime disconnecting and reconnecting after a very short time - for no reason I can see - with:
    Motorola X 2. Gen (2014) A6.0
    Medion X5004 A5.0.2
    ZTE blade v6 A5.0.2

    My FR235 is connected to GC (for obvious reasons) AND also to Android Bluetooth for the device-unlock-featute of Android.

    Would also be happy if you/I could do anything against the problem...

    I just purchased the FR235 and I'm having the same issue with my moto G4, the Bluetooth disconnects and reconnects every 5 - 20 seconds, sometimes longer. Were you ever able to solve this issue?
  • Try "upgrading" Bluetooth connection

    Garmin recently added an option to "upgrade" the Bluetooth connection to your watch in the Android app. They're a bit vague on why you'd want to do this. My guess is that the app contains workarounds for bugs in the Bluetooth support in past versions of Android, and those workarounds are themselves causing issues on the latest Android versions.     Has anyone found a solution to these problems? I have just bought a garmin 235 and it is constantly disconnecting and reconnecting to my I phone.
