sleep tracking not working properly?

i upgraded from a fibit charge hr. before the fibit can detect my sleep effortlessly. now the garmin forerunner 235 can only detect my sleep during the preset sleep time i enter in my profile. what the ***?

is this intentional or is this a bug? if this is intentional garmin is quite a bit retarded on this matter!
  • Agree...

I replaced several devices with my 235 (yay!) but I've had to start wearing my Polar Loop again with it, just for the sleep tracking. I sleep terribly and often wake in the night - The 235 keeps thinking my sleep ended at 02:00am and failing to pick up the rest of the night where I might have gotten another 3 or 4 hours sleep!

The sleep tracking it almost useless.

yeah it's even worse than my moov now (i use it for g-force and cadence tracking when running) in term of sleep tracking. and moov now is a $79 piece of plastic device!

official reply from Garmin, suprise surprise.

Thank you for contacting Garmin Corp.

I would be glad to help with you.

Sorry for informing you that Forerunner 235 could not support sleep detection for nap.

I would contact responsible departments about your need.

Please let me know if you have any other questions.

    Thanks!!

Wow Garmin can't even do a proper basic activity tracking.
