Stride length

Hi All,

I've set manually in my profile stride length in running 0,80m, and still in every run data my stride length is 1,15-1,20m.
And it's 100% sure that my stride length is not over one meter.

Does the watch calculate stride length in every running activity but somehow misses like 1/3 of my strides, or this a bug or does the watch just have a poor activity sensor for strides?

This has been happening since i bought the watch (last december), so nothing related updates.
  • How are you sure your stride is so short? Have you counted steps over the course of a longer distance? ((Steps with right foot) x 2) / (MetersTraveled) = StrideLength ....right? Record an activity over that same period...(or lap) should match.

My cadence and the resulting calculated stride length on each of my runs seems pretty legit - if anything I'd be wary of the cadence reading high (resulting in low stride length). But I do tend to pitter-patter step...lol
  • Stride length is going to vary hugely with pace so a fixed one serves no real purpose in actual runs. I think the point of the "fixed" one is for activity tracking mode where the watch just sees steps and nothing else.

If you can post some GC links to these we can check. After all stride length is just a function of pace and cadence and so should easy to verify.
Never heard of stride length being completely wrong.
