Can't install watch faces?

i get an error saying to up date the software with garmin express. I am running 4.70 and just got this watch today! is it perhaps the watch faces I want are not up to date for 4.70? I used GearMin on my Vivoactive and I really like that one.
  • Try plugging your watch into a pc/mac running GE and linked to your account. Then unplug it. It seems to make sure the app store knows what FW is on your watch.

    i did that before I posted the original message. do i need to wipe the watch and start over?

    edit: just restored defaults, still can't install anything, not just watch faces from the store. I guess this one is going back. tried from my phone and from a computer. both say all software up to date, but I need to connect to Garmin Express to update the software.
  • There was a new version of the app store launched today, so you might be seeing issues due to that. Base on what you're trying to install, go to it's app store page, and try "contact developer", as there could also be something specific to that watch face and that would be the best place for an answer...

    It isn't just watch faces, it is anything.

    I didn't update to the new connect app, I will try that I guess, nothing else seems to work, otherwise this thing is going back tomorrow. Had enough issues with the Vivoactive, was hoping this would be better

    So it was either updating the app on my phone or resetting the watch again,but now i can install things. Makes zero sense because the time in between this and the first I didn't even have it paired to my phone and was trying to install things from the computer and Garmin express and still got the same error.

    Well,at least it seems to work now
