I've been using my FR230 just for running, but I decided to start using it for activity tracking as well. When I installed a custom watch face, I noticed that the watch thinks it's Wednesday, August 3, when it's Friday, August 5. It's also six minutes slow. It syncs with Connect Mobile on my phone (that has the correct date and time), and I sync it with Garmin Connect on my Windows 10 computer that has the correct date and time. I've turned the watch off and on again, sync'd it multiple times and finally restored all defaults. But the watch is still two days and six minutes behind. It's running the current firmware, 4.7. Any ideas???
A FR230/235 will set the date and time of its internal clock automatically by GPS, unless you choose to set the time on it manually. The Owner's Manual clearly indicates that in a couple of places.
If you want to correct the date and time on your watch, then go outside where it has a clear view of the sky, and prep/start a GPS-tracked timed activity such that it attempts to acquire GPS satellite signals.
Syncing with the Garmin Connect Mobile app running on your phone has nothing to do with setting the time on your watch. The clock on your phone is not considered by the platform to be either an authoritative source or a trusted proxy for current time-of-day information.
