Eight weeks ago I bought the Garmin FR 235 and was very happy about it. Since today.
Yesterday I was runnning 10 kilometers and after synchronizing it with the IPhone App I noticed that there was no route available though GPS was on during the run.
In the morning I rode to the office by bike and used the Garmin as I usually did. I then noticed that the distance is not changing/counting so I restarted the watch. After that the distance was recorded and the route was visible in the app later.
The only strange thing was, that the language was english instead of german (in the setting german was still set).
Then I updated the firmware to 4.70 and got more strange issues:
- the watch really often freezes and no button reacts any more, only a reset was helpful then
- sometimes the reset lasted really long and the watch beeped and showed the Garmin logo several times before it was online
- changing the language to english and back to german doesn't work, it is still english (switching to french and back works fine, a restart between the changes was made to make sure)
- the screen1 on the running activity shows no information any more, it's just empty and white. changing the settings works fine, the preview looks as it should be
- sometimes the heart sensor isn't working (no green light), a restart works then
After that I updated the firmware to 5.07 but the issues are still occuring, the freezing topic has been slightly reduced.
The language issue could been solved by installing German in the Garmin Express and syncing it.
What would you recommend to do?
Is there any way to reset the watch to factory settings beside the options described in the manual (Clearing user data, Restoring all defaults settings)?
Does anyone got the same behaviour?
