Steps dissapeared

Ok this is very frustrating.
2 days in a row not about 8k worth of steps
Dissapeared from the device suddenly it viabrates show the garmin sign
On screen and loads an earlier data point from hours ago (steps , hr stright line... )
Has this happened to anyone before ?

I think it's connected to the fact that my phone died
And when i turned him on the watch got confused
Or something .

It happened both times after turning on the phone
Later on in the day ....

Why is this happening ?

I've had numerous restarts caused by bad bluetooth data going across during phone boot up. I now shutdown the watch with my phone and power it up after the phone is booted to avoid this. It will cause the watch to lose data that hasn't been closed out to a file. I think rebooting the watch will commit data to the files and prevent them from getting lost, at least thats how it appears from my use.

also maybe connecting the watch with the cable to the pc can prevent this ....
