Resting HR different on android than on web garmin connect

My Resting Heart Rate is completely different on the android app than it is to garmin connect on the web, for any particular day I choose.
Has anyone else noticed this?

    Yes, i have same problem.
I do not know what data to use to adjust the heart rate zones, from the site or from the program..
  • OK, thanks for confirming. I have raised a support call and look forward to the generic instructions about factory resetting my watch.
In the meanwhile would you guys also please raise a support call for the same.
    Thanks

Not an individual watch problem. A bug introduced in a recent firmware release.

Having had this watch for some time now here is my advice:

    • Don't hold your breath on any software issue being fixed adequetely.
    • Don't expect unbroken features to remain intact when Garmin issues new software.
    • What's worse than the software on the watch itself is both the Garmin Connect platform and phone app.
    • Don't bother with garmin support. They are about as useful as tits on a bull. Seriously, I've spoken about this numerous times before - not once did they do anything useful.
    • Expect the watch to perform like a cheap chinese smartwatch and you'll be satisfied. Expect the watch to perform like it's a product from a quality, reputale company and you'll be dissapointed.
    • Don't ever buy Garmin product again. There are much better options out there now that are priced better and perfrom about the same, if not better.

I agree with most of what you are saying, based on my experiences and others on here.

I'd disagree with that last line though. I had Tomtom before this, and their software was even worse. Bluetooth just didn't work, and they acknowledged that, but took well over 6 months to get it to work. There are instant pace issues that they just seem to be unwilling to resolve, despite pages and pages on the forums, and this is exactly the same on the runner 2 as it was the original. Finally, the smart features advertised as a coming feature at launch in Dec 2015 still haven't arrived.

For some reason this sector seems a shambles, especially in terms of the software. I've no experience of polar, but they still dont have a optical HRM running watch. Who else is there?

Hopefully we are overdue a startup coming along to shake the market up and actually invest in some decent software development and support, but for now I can't see it.

Yes, i agree on that, the Garmin support is no help at all, but still for the money i gave them, i want to actually get a working device that shows my HR.

I could live if the support says that they device does not work as intended, and they are working on a solution that we may get sometimes soon the next months.

But all iget from them, is,
restart, do a master reset, and update to beta.... and that were 3 different requests... They are not even trying

Where the correct data? online or on the phone?
  • I'm hoping is the phone. Its very high on the website.
I'm open to the possibility that both are complete garbage though.

The data in the app itself seems to be the same as what I see on the watch so I'm inclined to believe the app over the web.

Poor communication has been the theme here for quite awhile, I'm hoping that things change or this will be the last Garmin product I buy.
