anyone installed Multi time zone on fr230 or fr235?

I am thinking to buy a fr230 or 235, for i like one function that it can set current time automatically after locked to GPS.
I have two questions:
1. Does it have built-in time zone so that It knows which time zone I am in and set the time corresponding? I travel a little bit and I don't want to adjust time manually. I would like the watch can auto-adjust time following GPS information.
2. any one installed the app Multi Time Zone so that i can have time display for several cities in different time zones?

thank you.
  • For #1, there is actually a "time zone map" that occasionally gets updated (maybe a few times a year), and the way I understand it, it usesyour GPS location to get your tz offset. The same thing is done with things like car nav systems and etrex handhelds by Garmin. So based on your lat/lon, it gets the time and knows how to adjust it
  • I have the Multi Time Zone app installed on my 235. You can add up to 4 different time zones and scroll though them, but I had only one installed. I did not have to set the time for that zone, it was calculated by the app after choosing the location fro the time zone I wanted to be shown. The software picked the time according to my local time on the watch.

    thank you for the reply.

then, if you move into a different time zone, does it adjust time correctly? does is even know daylight saving?

    thanks again

Even without the multi-time-zone app, as soon as you connect the GPS in a new time zone, it gets the proper time/date for your new location, including daylight savings as appropriate. In addition, if you are in a new time zone and cannot get GPS signal, you can go to manual time setting, set the time correctly, then re-enable auto-setting; your new time will be kept. I've done this quite a lot since I have the watch. Just keep in mind that you have to go to the start of an activity for the GPS to try and connect.
