Forerunner 230 - blank screen!

Hi,
I hope someone can help. I've only had my forerunner 230 for 2 months and I've loved it until now - no problems at all.

Then, this morning, it beeped and the screen went blank - and there's nothing - it just won't come back on. Even though it had a full charge, I have tried plugging it in though the plug and the computer but still nothing. My computer can't find it to sync.. I've looked on here and seen this problem is common with other forerunners and tried their suggestions of holding the power button for 30 seconds but no luck.. really disappointed - can anyone help me please?!

Oh whew it worked. I was worried and discouraged when my watch worked but I couldn’t see anything, only heard the beeps when I started a run. Thanks!!

This is the post that keeps on giving. My 230 is about five years old. When the screen went blank, I figured it was the end of it's lifetime. I love the watch and didn't really want to shell out for a replacement. But this did the trick and it is back in action. Thanks much for the fix.

Hi all, I've tried the method suggested above (and other possible combinations) but unfortunately it didn't seem to work. My forerunner 230 (about 6 years old) buttons stopped working (just the watch was on) and then it went blank even though it was almost fully charged. Sometimes it seems to be about to restart but it gets stuck on the Garmin Logo (I get no prompt for a hard reset). The logo seems to appear sometimes in reaction to the power on button sometimes just appears randomly. I've tried to connect to Garmin Express but it doesn't find it ... any ideas? I read other folks with 5 year old devices could reanimate theirs so I had hopes that I didn't need to dispose mine Thank you!
