Hey guys ,
I have one question for you .
Anyone here own a Garmin FR 235k ? I know that the built-in optical sensor HR is unlikely to be achieve results compared with chest belt , but I want to ask if someone had problem with it and with measuring HR, and how you guys have dealt with it somehow ? for example, by placing watches higher on hand ( by moving above the forearm or so ) or otherwise ? .... I'll be happy to receive any opinion and advice.
Just for info, I ask because I have an watches for about two days ... Yesterday measuring HR seemed fine - I ran about 16 km, pace + - 4:58 min / km and average heart rate was 151. Today we ran 10 km ( small mountain ), the pace was 5:48 min / km and I had a heartbeat still around 85 - 92. I do not know whether they are corresponding values ..... So far I've never had these kind of gps watch .
Thanks for any advice or response.

I have only had my fr235 for about two weeks but I have checked it against a chest strap and a mio link wrist monitor. I have found it to be within 1 or 2 beats of both the other monitors. It can lag sometimes but always catches up within a few seconds. So I am very happy with the accuracy. I wear mine on the inside of my left wrist, I have always worn watches this way so just habit. The strap is just touching the wrist bone for day to day use and when exercising I move it about 1/2 an inch further up my arm from the wrist bone and tighten it up a couple of holes. All in all it works fine for me.
  • As has been mentioned before in this forum:

Wear it slightly above the place where you'd wear a normal watch.. Above the wristbone
Wear it tight! And then some...
Let it properly get your HR before starting your excersise...

Overall it works pretty fine for me in this way.
