Garmin Connect issue - FR235 Software Version 3.2 with Samsung S5 (Android 5.0)

Hi,

Just got the FR235 for my wife yesterday with version 3.2 out of the box.
Issue encountered today is it's not connecting properly with her Samsung S5 but its working with my Moto X2.

Garmin Connect Mobile in her Samsung S5 couldn't find the watch but the bluetooth status is connected.

Anyone encountered/resolved a similar issue? Will the latest software update address this?

  • I use my FR235 with a Samsung S5 myself. (not sure of the OS at this point). However, when I first got my 235, I hooked it up to the computer and did all the updates, then set it up with the phone. I think you'd be better off trying to update the FR before trying to continue to get it to pair with the phone. Worse comes to worse, that's one less thing you have to go through if you call Garmin Support.

    Just did a software update last night. The FR235 is now running version 4.60.
    Will make an update soon if this resolves the Garmin Connect issue.

  • Glad it worked out for you. My S5 just updated to 6.0 (Marshmallow). Seems to fail to pick up the bluetooth connection more often now. I have to go on my watch to Bluetooth, disconnect, then reconnect. I don't charge the phone up in my bedroom (otherwise I'd be checking email all night long). If you don't keep the phone separated from the watch too long, it might not be an issue.
