Clock is wrong.

Sing understand that when I have my watch set on "automatic", the time displayed is due to the gps.
On several occasions I've noticed either my watch has shut itself off and when i turn it back on, the time is off by several hours.
Worse, sometimes the watch does te shut off, and the time is just wrong.

Any thoughts on why this happens?
This is my 2nd unit, the first one did the same, but I exchanged it since it was less than 30days old.

Thanks!!!

I don't think the technical reason matters; you, as the user, cannot avoid the possibility of the watch's time-of-day being wrong when next powered on, if you allow the watch to stay powered off for a period of time.

The way to address it is to allow the watch to set its date and time automatically. You said you've already selected the setting, and that is good; so, when you find that the watch's time (and/or date) is wrong, all you need do is go outside, and prep or start a GPS-tracked activity so that the watch will acquire a GPS signal.

Leaving the watch displaying the watch face in low power mode does not allow it to acquire a GPS signal or use such to set the time.
  • Not sure if you have tried this, but try LOCKING your watch buttons (press/hold your UP button, then scroll to LOCK DEVICE). This will eliminate the chance that you are inadvertently turning your watch off. When I first got my watch, I tended to turn my watch off when I slept (pressing the power button for 15+ seconds) and each morning when I turned it back on, the date/time was about one day behind. As ASmugDill said, going under sky and acquiring a GPS lock should get your date/time back.
