HR slow/not starting on FR235 Activity

Hi,

Have noticed of late that it can take up to 3 minutes for the HR to start on FR235. Today after waiting 4 minutes I power cycled the watch which allowed it to activate HR within a few seconds.

Anyone else having this issue? Anyone aware of a fix?

Thanks

although for one run it seemed to under-reporting my HR by 20 or so BPM for the first ten minutes, before suddenly jumping 20 BPM to what I expect my HR to be at that pace, and then perform normally for the remainder of that run.

I have very similar issue at every run since 28/05, I would think the watch is only reporting 40-50 lower BPM, or maybe even just 2/3 of the beats, when I think my HR is around 140-150, the reading is about 90-110. After 8-20 minutes the reported HR jumps to the expected range.

Measured HR leaping a few minutes into run

HR leaping a few minutes into a run: I've seen this too.

I've had so many issues with my FR235 I'm thinking to return it. Runs without GPS tracking, runs without HR, getting stuck in a reboot loop... I'm on s/w v. 4.70

  • HRM still won't lock in

I would be thrilled to get HRM lock within a minute. But since an update in mid-May, I can't get a lock at all. I sometimes wait 15 minutes, with the little heart icon blinking and blinking and blinking. I shouldn't have to power cycle the watch for it to do what it's supposed to do. I finally gave up and bought an Epson Runsense and it gets GPS and HRM lock within a few seconds every time. Very accurate on both too, with no glitches. So it's certainly possible. Really wish Garmin could fix this, but I've seen no indication they can.
