Battery Charging indicator Question

Hi,

I just puchased the Forerunner 235 and think I may possibly have a defective unit. It has been plugged in for 45 minutes and there is no indication that it is charging at all. All I see is the charging symbol with a red bar indicating no charge. It does not display any percentage and there is no visible signs that there is action of any kind. Seems unusual to me. I have tried using a different port and also an external wall charger. And wiggled the contact clip just to make sure it was seated properly. I will leave it plugged in of course to see. Thanks for any help.

  • Did you already try to reset the watch?

    If the device stops responding, you may need to reset it.

    NOTE: Resetting the device may erase your data or settings.
    Hold for 15 seconds.
    The device turns off.

    Hold for one second to turn on the device.

    No I didn't. It is a new device. Shouldn't have to. I just came back after 3 hours and still nothing. I will try the reset. It's worth a shot. But since it has zero charge I don't anticipate having much luck. Probably have to send it back.

    Actually that did fix it. Thanks. Odd that I had to reset a new unit. Glad I don't have to send it back.
