Pace slow to track

On version 4.6, does anyone else see that pace (i.e., "instant pace") is slow to track when you slow down? Pace seems to change fairly quickly when I speed up during a run, but it can take 5-10+ seconds to track when I slow down. I know there is a natural lag in GPS-related pace, but this delay seems extreme.

I think you need to change the data recording settings from smart to every second.
Select Menu - Settings - System - Data Recording
  • Maybe that would help. But that does not explain why it seems so responsive when I increase pace but so non-responsive when I decrease pace?

You can use a custom 3rd party datafield that let's set the average pace. So you can set it to give you the pace average from the last 10 secons, 20 seconds etc, or 1,2 seconds. Obviously instant pace will never be 100% accurate, it's much better to return average pace from last 5 seconds for example. Dozen Run field I think it's called

All that does is change the number of data points saved. Has no bearing on device response.
