Heart rate sensor not Working after update. WHR:0.00 zero version!?

Before two days the watch prompt me to make the update (HR 2.70), I did it, and then the heart rate is gone. In System I have WHR:0.00(0.00.00)
Where did the firmware for heart rate gone?
What can I do now? All the updates ware ok until now.
Today I have also updated to version 4.6 but the Heart rete sensor is still not working.
It still has version WHR: 0.00
I have done many Restore defaults, but still no change.
Please help!

It sounds like you either had a corrupt file or incomplete download of the update when you tried to go to WHR 2.70. I remember reading a thread where someone had the same problem with a previous update, but I can't seem to find it now. If I remember correctly, support sent them a link to manually download the updated version and instructions on how to install it. Without knowing your location, here are some support numbers you can call. Best of luck! US 1-800-800-1020 Canada 1-866-429-9296. Here's the link for Europe. There are too many numbers to list. http://www.garmin.com/us/support/contact?#fragment-1

One thing that you could try is to download the Sensor Hub version using the Garmin WebUpdater program. It should show you a Sensor Hub update in the "Check for additional updates" section. If this does not load the Sensor Hub, then contacting support as TMK17 suggested would be the next recommendation. We do apologize for the inconvenience and would want to determine why this occurred on your device.

That sounds very familiar. I do believe that is what was instructed in the case I was referring too.
  • Thank you for your answers!
I am on a trip right now, and I don't have a computer.
I will try the Garmin web updater in a few days and if the problem still exist, I will try to call the support.
As soon as I have news, I will post here what I have done.

I have the same problem, version WHR: 0.00. I tried to update sensor hub through express and web updater but with no success. I had to roll back to 2.60. Does anybody have the same problem and solution to it ?

Same issues here, I can repeatedly update the sensor using the Web Updater, it appears to be successful but remains unresponsive (no green lights) and locked at WHR 0.00 in the System versions screen.

I'm interested to know how you rolled back to 2.6? Right now I'd love to actually have a WHR that worked at all, despite 2.6 not having been particularly reliable for me, at least it wasn't dead.

    At least I'm not dead.

I've had the same problem with no HR display since the update. I tried the web updater which reinstalled 4.60 but I could not see how to reinstall 2.70. No success with the display. I'll have another try to reinstall 2.70 later and then I'll contact Garmin support. At least I know that others are having the same problem. I was beginning to think I was dead.

I am having the same issue, HR sensor doesn't work any more since some update (locked at 72). Then after the most recent update, it doesn't flash and the WHR version is 0.00. Tried the webupdater but no luck. Please help!

You should have the file in garmin/express/firmware folder on your computer. There are all updates files stored. Then you just copy gcd file from 2.60 to fr235 and put it in garmin/remotesw. When you disconnect fr235 it will prompt you to update. But to be honest, it just works but after some time becomes erratic and useless.

    Great advice thanks!

So to follow up, I called Garmin support this morning and they asked me to send the watch back. However following that I thought I'd run through this procedure and as it happened I had a 2.50 version of firmware in my garmin folder so I reverted to that, nothing. I plugged my watch back in and figured I'd let it update back to 2.7 so at least it was in a consistent state to send back to Garmin.

BAM, suddenly all my LEDs came back on and the WHR is now registering as 2.70 and working... or at least so far.

I should say that this is ridiculous, I shouldn't have to follow a purely chance procedure to get my watch working again, and it's only been functional for 10 minutes so it's far from conclusive... but it is progress.
