Firmware 4.6

I just updated. No explosions so far. ;-) Figured I might as well start off the new thread.

A .3 figure jump... hope it helps people out!
  • I'm guessing the two customizable HR fields are not back? Do they stay as they are at least? Thanks!
  • RH seems worse than version 4.6

    RHR is ridiculous on mine...

    RHR: 59
Current: 53 (While I type this even.... it was actually wavering between 49-51 before I started typing)
    Low: 49

I've been watching it for the last several minutes now. My HR has been steady between 49 - 53 and yet the RHR won't update.
edit: Got up to tend to my daughter, HR hit 59 while I was *walking around*. So apparently that was rest ;)

It is weird. I've also suffered the above a lot since the latest update. However, today, it seems "normal" again. I'm sure it won't stay this way, but:

    Current HR, is 63, Low 59 - High 149, RHR 40.

I have the same problem. Besides the wacth turned off today after breakfast by itself and now my RHR is 69 when I have a low of 46 and a high of 110. I wonder if that number isn´t tle lowest HR but a kind of average of all the HR samplings when the watch doesn´t detect movement. (resting)
  • The new RHR calculation is just plain dumb. It doesn't even come close to the definition of resting heart rate.

For example, ran a marathon a few weeks back. From the moment I got off the bus I didn't "rest" until hours later when I was back at my hotel yet my "resting heart rate" jumped up like 20 beats.

What drives me crazy is that the original firmware that came with my watch came close to my own measurements (and those of my Charge HR) The 4.1 (or maybe 4.2) firmware caused my resting heart rate to calculate at the low 30s which was about 15 beats low. Now it is in the mid to upper 60s.
  • Yeah, my Resting Heart Rate on the watch is totally wrong. My normal RHR is low to mid 50's. The watch tells me anywhere between 66-80. What I find strange is Connect IQ and the App show a fairly accurate number. I find this strange because the watch is the source of this data. Why is the device that actually captures the data so far off compared to Connect IQ? I pay no any attention to my watch's RHR anymore. Too bad, because RHR is an important number.

    Verdict?

Currently I'm at 4.20 FW and 2.6 hub.

So what's the verdict on new 4.6 FW and 2.70?

    GO
    NO GO

AND should I do a hard reset after the update? Going to use my PC for this.

Any help on the reset and update would be appreciated.

    THANK YOU!

  • So far so good, with the previous version the HR was sometimes long to lock (hadn't been the case previously) and now it's back to normal.

What App/Widget that you used from Connect IQ for accurate RHR, please? I will try it to see differences.

    Thanks

Impossible to say how it will work for you, for some it has improved things... For others it made things worse. For me it all works fine but your mileage may vary... Only way to find out is try yourself.
