Hi,

I bought a Forerunner 235 several months ago but I just tried to send a new course to the device w/o any luck. Does the Forerunner 235 allow for courses to be sent to the device? Please advise as I'm about to go for a short bike ride but can't seem to send to device. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Try the dwMap app from the Connect IQ Store. It works great.

Eh, nope... It doesn't support courses. You can try dwMap which does seem to implement it (you can plan a course through their website and send it to your device. Never tried it though) or the Chart datafield, which tracks your current route. But that's about it...
  • The 735 supports courses natively.

I saw that. Hope it gets brought over to the 235.

    Keep on hoping I'd say...

It seems the difference between the 235 and 735xt is purely software, bringing those to the 235 would mean less people buying the 735xt and that's not something garmin would like to see...

Really like the 735 promise, but not going to buy and pay the premium price for almost the exact same watch again.

Can't be only software. The case is slightly smaller (apparently) and the GPS+HR activity battery life 3 hours longer. So i'm guessing it's a little more than just software (but probably mostly software, i agree, and i'd gladly pay $50-100 to upgrade for the extra features).
  • There's also much more memory on the 735. And likely a faster processor.
