FR 235 going on sale soon (US, REI)

I just got my REI Anniversary sale catalog. The FR 235 is gong on sale for $249.99, $80 off. My understanding is you don't need to be an REI co-op member to get the sale price. REI also has a very good return policy. I got my 235 from them when they first came out, and while I know several have posted about problems, mine has been working well.

Sale dates are May 20-30. (*sometimes* they give the sale prices early if you mention to an associate that you know they are going on sale)

I just bought mine from REI yesterday... looks like I should see if I can get a raincheck? Do you think they would honor that?

I don't think what you want is a raincheck. You might want to ask for a price adjust. Seeing as it's only a week until their sale. Maybe wait until the sale actually starts before asking.

Actually, I did a quick Google search and found this: https://www.rei.com/help/guarantee.html

For products purchased on REI.com or in REI stores, we will honor the sale price if you purchased within the last 14 days and your item is the same product number, color and size as the item on sale. If so, we will gladly refund the difference to you. This does not apply to REI Outlet purchases, which are not subject to price adjustments.

Looks like it's more than just REI. My running store announced that the 230 and 235 are on sale now until the 30th.

I saw it in the REI mailer too.

I wonder if the va-hr and 735 are pulling people away from the 23x devices, and they have a few extras right now.

Just bought mine a bit more than a week ago at full price from REI.

Any suggestions on how to go about getting a price adjustment? (Or if it's even possible from REI)

Got it, thanks. Should do the whole 'read before posting' thing..

Called REI and they will honor a price match of their current $249.99 because I had bought it 12 days ago..

For future reference, price guarantee is only 14 days and they don't price match anyone else (most of you probably already know that).
