Can I use my 235 without a computer for a week?

I will be on vacation for a week - I live in Chicago, and will be traveling to northern California. I am bringing my FR235 as I will be running trails where I'll be. However, I do not plan on bringing my laptop for the sake of traveling light and avoiding the internet as much as possible. I will have my iPhone, though, that I use to sync my watch via Bluetooth. A couple of questions:

1.) Is it okay to connect my FR235 USB adapter to an iPhone outlet charger to charge the watch?
2.) Do I need my laptop (Garmin Express) to update my watch during my one week vacation for satellite updates, etc.? Is it possible to update my watch via my iPhone? Or is it okay to not update the watch for a week?

Thanks.

    .

Yes, you can charge your watch with iPhone Charger. I have been doing the same since I bought the watch. I only connect it to Computer when I want to do a Firmware Updates.

Not, sure about satellite updates, but it should be okay for a week, I have gone through my watch for weeks maybe 2 or more, without connecting to Computer. I use the iPhone Charger when I need to top up the charge.

The Garmin Connect Mobile app running on your iPhone is only the conduit; the end-point of a sync is the Garmin Connect service ‘in the cloud’, to which the app must connect over the Internet, irrespective of whether your phone uses Wi-Fi or a mobile network to establish connectivity.

No Internet access = No syncing.

    Yes.

No; you can use a mobile device (i)‑on which the Garmin Connect Mobile app is installed and running, (ii)‑with which your FR235 is paired and connected, and (iii)‑which has Internet connectivity.

    Yes.

Or is it okay to not update the watch for a week?
Probably, although GPS performance in terms of acquiring a lock on satellites while prepping an activity may suffer later in the week.
