Battery Life after 4.2

Though I would start a new thread on battery life after 4.2
It is mentioned on the other thread but that has gone mainly in the direction of HR data missing on activities.

I'm getting really poor battery life.
Down to 36% in 24 hours with no activities, just notifications and 24/7 HRM.
Can anyone else confirm they have the same issue or do I need to start raisng this with Garmin support as a problem on my individual watch?

Thanks

Battery life is depended on the Watch Face too.

Try using the default Garmin Watch Face and check.

Sorry, I should have said, those figures were with the default digital face.
I have tried a factory reset and will see if that or the 4.3 update help. Watch is charging now.

Was just interested to know if anyone else has noticed this issue?

Not I. I charged the battery on my FR235 to 100% (and then some, by leaving it charging for another hour via my computer's USB port) and disconnected at 3AM, then wore it to bed. At 11AM the battery level was reported as 97%. Using Countdown! watch face.

If anything I think the battery life is better.
  • My battery life is marginally better. I used to go about 6 days before I would have to re-charge - battery was about 20-ish% at that time. Now I get closer to 7 days before my battery is at 20%. I use Better Original watch face and usually have 5-7 30 minute activities that use GPS over the week.

Edit: Also use notifications, 24/7 HRM

    Max
  • OK, upgraded to 4.3, hard reset, full charge.
    I'm down to 42% in 24 hours.
    No activities.
    No apps/watch faces downloaded.
    Syncing to Android.

It never used to be this bad, not sure what has changed.

Is there anyone from Garmin who could comment on this please?
  • Try resetting to factory settings rather than just a hard reset. If that doesn't do it then I'd look at a return/swap if that's possible.

Yeah, that was a full factory reset.
Now exactly a day and a half and I am out of juice completely.
No activities, no extra apps. Never used to be like this.
    Will call garmin on Monday.

    You'd better call garmin.
Cause at the moment and with 4.3 my battery lasts for exactly a week, with activity tracker, OHR just while sleeping and running, and with 6 activities of 10K and 45-60 minutes.
