Random resets

Does anyone else with a 235 on the current FW suffer with random resetting of time and date?

Mine played about yesterday after being turned off (wasn't able to wear it during the day and didn't want it recording inactivity as sleep), after 5 mins or so of it cycling through the Garmin screen and going off it finally started up with the incorrect time / date and this evening after using it to log a walk the time and date changed on their own !

Because the data changed from 4/5/16 to 5/5/16 and back to 4/5/16 when I reset it, Its lost all step data. :(

the 235 is a great device but the software seems a little flaky
  • Your time is updated via GPS. Your time will be wrong when you turn your watch on after you have reset your watch.

Sounds like you reset the watch instead of just turning it off. If you press/hold the power button for 15 sec the watch will turn off and is reset ... when you turn your watch back on, the time will usually be wrong. To correct it, choose an activity like RUN, go outside and acquire a GPS signal. For me, it usually only takes a few seconds, then I stop and discard that run. The time should be correct.

To just turn the watch off, press hold the power button until you get the options: Power Off: Yes/No.

  • There is a known bug in the FW, where if you turn off the watch, that battery can drain pretty fast. It's best to not turn it off right now.

If it was off for a while, it probably ran the battery down and needs GPS to set the time.

I don't have the auto time clock / set automatically function turned on as the GPS time is an hour out for the uk :0 so I set the time manually.

The watch was ON and i'd just finished an activity and saved the data when the time and date changed !

    Had Resets too

I had a auto reset Wednesday at about noon. Just out of nothing. Lost all steps till there. :(( No reason, no activity - just reboot.)
Then it stuck/freezed yesterday before lunch. No key-action able. -> Reset -> wrong time, still stuck -> Reset -> RUN for GPS -> time ok -> lost all steps, but up an running again. (The watch, not me;))

Then update (4.20 > 4.30) late at night. After that it didn't react to any key. So another reset, and voila - everything is fine till now. Except that I didn't have any HR during night-hours. (I'm not dead, have checked this)

But now, Friday, 7:20h everything seems to be back to normal.

I got a new menu.item "Add new (sensor)". Is auto-pairing now disabled forever (thanks god!) or is this menu.item just ment to force pairing (and I will still catch any sensor I can see in my surrounding)?
