Calendar widget just showing whole day event (forerunner 235 using android phone)

Do you have these problems?

I am using forerunner 235 and just updated the newest software.

1. calendar widget: shows only all day events in my smartphone calendar.

2. weather widget: lower temperature sometimes shows 0 degree celsius. Raining percentage always 0%

(using meizu mx4)
  • I have to be within my phone's BT range anyway, so it's always right there.
Indeed. What I find far more useful than the Calendar widget are meeting reminders (as notifications) on the watch, specifically the ones for my dinner engagements – which I often forget, since my girlfriend and I often book up to three nights out in a week several weeks in advance. I usually set the reminders up for a custom number of minutes ahead of the bookings, to take into account the amount of time it would take me to get home from the Sydney Opera House (which is generally the furthest I'd frequently go on my runs) on foot, shower, get dressed and then get to the restaurant. Luckily, these seem to work with or without the dinner ‘appointments’ themselves being displayed in the Calendar widget.

Maybe we can just remove the widget...
You can do that in Garmin Connect Mobile or Garmin Express. While I haven't removed it, I have reordered the widgets so that the Calendar widget is the most number of button-presses from the watch face going through the cycle in either direction.

    good suggestion

    ASmugDill,

good suggestion. I have also rearranged the widgets so that the calendar widget is the least accessible one.

    GC support feedback

After a number of emails providing information, I received the following email from GC mobile support (android) :

I would recommend checking for software updates for your devices and removing and then re-adding the unit via Garmin Connect Mobile. You can check for software updates for your unit via*Garmin Express. You can find available updates for*Garmin Connect Mobile*in the*Play*Store. You can find*Android*updates for your phone in the phone’s About settings.

You should remove the device from Garmin Connect Mobile in the menu under Devices by pressing and holding the name and choosing Remove, and*from your phone’s Bluetooth settings (if applicable). I would also recommend removing any other paired devices currently in your Bluetooth settings. Afterwards sign out of the application through the application’s Menu > Settings, and then*force-close and clear-cache the application in your phone’s Settings > Application Manager.

(NOTE: If you have Android Version 6.0 “Marshmallow” you will need to ensure that your Permissions are all enabled through the Application Manager)

Now that you have removed the Garmin from your Bluetooth and GCM you should restart*both devices. You can soft-reset the Garmin by holding the Power button until the device restarts on its own, and then shut your phone down and turn it back on. Once they have turned back on follow the steps to re-pair the device through GCM. Also ensure that while pairing there are no other wireless device active in the area. Avoid placing devices that use ANT+, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, or any other wireless communication protocol near the phone and the unit.

    GIVE UP. NO real help.
