Do you have these problems?

I am using forerunner 235 and just updated the newest software.

1. calendar widget: shows only all day events in my smartphone calendar.

2. weather widget: lower temperature sometimes shows 0 degree celsius. Raining percentage always 0%

(using meizu mx4)

    calendar mystery

so "interesting" that the widget works in a mysterious way.

So disappointed Garmin has ignored this issue for such a long time. I have emailed Asia Garmin and US Garmin. No real help arrived yet.

Let's predict what will happen? issue last forever? or an update can help? I am afraid of the update since so many negative feedback here.

It's my first time using Garmin and I have to say... not enough confident in the brand.

    asked to update ...

Garmin asked me to update ......

firmware 4.30 not arrived yet but the senor hub updated.

    you know what? NO CHANGE.

dunno how long it will take......

update, reboot, reinstall etc.. still no specific action towards the problem.

    what a pity!!
  • I was actually having this issue with my iPhone 6s. I restarted my phone this morning and the calendar widget populated correctly. Weird...

is it a time zone problem?

It really looks like a time zone problem for me.

Some events (not all day event) pop up and then disappear later.

    Dunno how to correct it.

P.S. The Garmin calendar widget seems update at very low frequency. maybe once a day?

No, I don't find that to be the case at all. Right now my FR235 is connected to Garmin Connect Mobile running on my iPad Air, and I created a test event in my Google calendar (in a browser on my Mac, if that matters). It took a while for the event to appear in the native Calendar app in iOS, but once it appears, the Calendar widget on my FR235 picked it up in less than sixty seconds. Changes to details of existing calendar events (e.g. starting and finishing times) don't seem to be picked up – at least not within a ten-minute timeframe – even after the iOS Calendar app has reflected the changes. On the other hand, when I deleted the test event and create a different one, once again the Calendar widget picked up both the deletion and the addition within sixty seconds of the iOS Calendar app doing so.

You can do the same sort of tests with your Android phone if you're only interested the performance characteristics of your set-up, as opposed to more generally how frequently or promptly the Calendar widget on the FR235 updates.

    Thanks Asmugdill,

Surprised 4.60 released! But I am still in 4.20 !(in HK) :(

Hope the new version can solve the calendar problem.

do u know any other calendar widget can replace the Garmin one?

I searched but cannot find one.
  • No, firmware 4.60 didn't solve this. Once I finally have BT working I hoped that I will be able to use calendar widget for quick look to which meeting room I must go. Uf, another dissapointment by Garmin..

Events are removed from widget even before their start, really strange. Now my upcoming event will happen in 47 minutes and is still there, lets see when it will be removed - if the behaviour is still the same.

A may recommend to create indipendent topic for this, so Garmin support will easily spot the description of this issue there.

I'm back to only seeing all-day events when my FR235 (running firmware v4.60) is connected to my Android handset (running Garmin Connect Mobile v3.5.0.1). Just as well I don't rely on my watch to tell me about my upcoming appointments, because in spite of this issue I'm not switching to an iPhone!

All the same, I don't think the problem is with the Calendar widget in the FR235's firmware/application code, because the same code works fine in that regard when my watch is connected to Garmin Connect Mobile app for iOS or Garmin Connect Mobile app for Windows 10 Mobile.

Yeah, although it is kinda a 'neat' feature that the watch does this, I find it mostly useless. My phone is still my primary source for checking my appointments/weather/notifications ... I have to be within my phone's BT range anyway, so it's always right there.

Maybe we can just remove the widget...
