Not able to upload activities to Strava?

The "Connect with Strava" button is whited-out and inactive.

Another option is to use a site like https://tapiriik.com/ It'll synchronize your runs between Garmin, Strava, and others you might choose to use. I pay a few bucks so the syncs happen automatically, but it's not required, if you are willing to click on the button to sync after runs.

How would I go about this?

From what I've read so far, Garmin seems to connect to Strava only if you have a premium Strava account, in which I do not have.

(I feel like a grandpa trying to navigate through this.)

I do not have a premium account and have my two accounts connected...
From Garmin Connect (web), click on the head and shoulder icon on the left hand side - click Settings and then "Account Information". From there you should be able to link your Garmin Connect account to Strava. Hopefully it works!

Hi, new 235 user here!! I'm looking to upload all of my activities to Strava through my phone. The closest way I've seen to doing this is going to Settings > 3rd Party Apps > Strava, but it gives me the following screen:
I'm sure I'm missing something extremely simple here. Thanks in advance.

Yeah, they don't explain it very well. What you're seeing in the phone is is ONLY for getting Strava Segments loaded into Garmin cycling computers (Edge series devices).

All other Garmin to Strava activity sync happens via the websites; your 235 activities have to upload to Garmin Connect on the web and then transfer over to Strava. I think you set that up on Strava's end. EDIT: a quick Google search and here are the instructions: Uploading from a Garmin Device

Personally I use Tapiriik as mentioned above. It used to be that the direct Garmin to Strava activity sync left all my activities as public on Strava; using Tapiriik I could have them default to private. I don't know if that is still the case, be sure to check if this is important to you. (main reason though is that I also have Tapiriik push the TCX files to a folder on Dropbox.
