Heart Rate Not Recorded While Running

Been seeing odd behavior recently. While in standby mode (if that is the proper term), can see heart rate. However, once a run starts, the heart rate does not record.

Is there a setting that causes this to happen? I can't seem to find what I must be missing...

I'm having the same issue. Had been tracking my heart rate just fine after the updates, then ran 8 miles Saturday and 3 this morning and no HR was captured. It captures my HR just fine at rest, but not during my runs.

My current work around is to go to the HR screen before a run and let it lock onto the HR - i.e. HR symbol goes solid. Let it stay on this screen for a couple of minutes. Then quickly go to the activity (eg Run) and make sure it is still locked on by looking at a HR field. Then if GPS is locked, start the run.

With that said, the watch may still lock onto some weird number for a while. It's not cadence lock but some other stupid algorithm lock. Damn this watch. Why can't they get the basics right?
