Charging using wall plug issue

I've noticed the same thing, and I have no clue why this is. Charging on my laptop is *way* faster than using a 5v iPhone charger. Four hours seems really excessive, but then again the lowest my watch has ever gotten since I bought it was around 22%. Charging from stone dead, who knows.

I usually charge mine from an Anker brand wall charger. It's seems just as fast as any other source, including either of my laptops.

This charger has a "ChargeIQ" feature that's supposed to figure out how to optimally charge whatever is connected. Perhaps that's helping.

I only charge via computer....it seems it fits haywire otherwise...

I find it charges faster when it goes into USB mode or whatever that screen for updating is called that has the time and USB symbol on it. Whenever I use my charge only usb extension cable it seems to take longer regardless on the source of power.

I received my fr235 a week ago and I'm quite satisfied currently (except for OHR, but this is an other story).
I tried to charge my watch using my iPhone charger yesterday and I noticed a strange behavior.
I tooks almost 4 hours to charge the watch !
Last time, I used my computer USB port, and I tooks about 1.5hours.

Is anyone noticed the same issue ? Usually, it's faster while using wall plug instead of computer...

So why not use the other charger that usually gives you the faster response? It's quite possible that the output from the iPhone charger is much lower.

For lithium-ion battery longevity I think slow charging is good.

This watch will charge at a maximum rate of about 30mA. This current is tiny in comparisson to your phones nominal charging current or any other device that might be attached to a USB port of your computer. A usb port can supply 500mA and modern phone chargers are good for 2A.

It's the watches charging circuit that controls the current and NOT what is providing the power (i.e. Charger or PC) in this case. In theory it should take about the same time to charge via any USB port/outlet. If you are seeing something vastly different, then you have a problem with your cable, power source or some other voodoo.

Or possibly the different modes the watch goes into depending on what it is plugged into cause different power drain?
I cannot be bothered keeping an eye on the watch while it is charging but maybe in some modes it keeps looking for the heart rate when on the desk and this sucks up the power?

Nope. Watch turns off HR LEDs as soon as charging starts and will keep them off while plugged in regardless of PC, powerbank, or wall charger. You can confirm this yourself if you care to by activating LEDs by going to HR screen and then plugging cable in.
