Screen protectors

Has anyone tried these? I am looking at the BoxWave brand. Seems like a smart idea seeing as I tend to inadvertently bump my watch face on things occasionally. They come in: Clear Touch Glass, Clear Touch Anti-Glare, and Clear Touch Crystal. Just curious about the difference between the different types and if they are a quality product ... and if they obscure the face at all.

I have the clear touch glass. Works perfectly, doesn't scratch and you can't even tell it's on the watch face.
  • I bought a Boxwave ClearTouch Glass screen protector. Really easy to install and looks great.

Yeah, this is the one I went with. It is pricey, but looks very, very nice.
  • I bought Savvies from http://www.protectionfilms24.com/products/screen-protectors/article-selection.html?geraeteklasse=1&marke=Garmin&modell=14273
They've been good. Especially for the price.
Looks like there's a lot more options now, including a glass face for $7

I know many will say it's waste to use these sort of things, but I have a bad habit of smacking my wrist/watch into stuff.
  • Thanks for the replies! After checking all the suggestions out I think Clear Touch Glass is the one for me ... seems like the toughest and most invisible ... plus it is nearly half price online right now! Ordered and waiting!

The BROTECT Matte screen protector I use has been on for seven or so weeks now, and stays on fine even though I wash my watch under the tap or in the shower with hand wash liquid or shower gel all the time.

I wear my 235 24/7. At work, showering, swimming, etc. I basically beat the hell out of it daily. I've never had a problem with my Boxwave Clear Touch Glass coming off, scratching, fogging up, anything. It's so unnoticeable, that you have to come within inches to even know it's there. I paid around $16 on Amazon for mine and it's worth every penny. Avoid anyone selling protectors in multi-packs. If one doesn't work permanently, it isn't worth buying at all.

    Zero issues. None. Zip. Nada.

I've run in the rain with mine plenty, and I never bother to take my watch off before jumping in the shower after lunchtime runs at work.

I disagree. I see screen protectors as replaceable, expendable, sacrificial fodder for resisting and ultimately wearing the adverse impacts of scratches and bumps, and minimise the likelihood of eye sores or, worse still, having to replaced a cracked screen. Especially if the screen protectors are cheap like the Savvies SU75 – 6 pcs for €4, or 18 pcs for €8, German-made and ships worldwide free-of-charge – I'd be more than happy to replace a badly scratched one every month or two should the need arise.

I actually have a pack of Savvies SU75 in the drawer, but haven't had the need to use any of them yet, because the first of a twin-pack of BROTECT Matte (2 pcs for €4 including free shipping) I'm using has already lasted two months without a scratch or dent. I was actually perversely hoping that it gets scratched during my day-to-day use – both so that I can find out just what it takes to scratch it without deliberately taking a screwdriver or some such to it, and also gives me an excuse to swap it out and try the Savvies without feeling I was frivolously wasting something that does its job well – because I would like to know if the Savvies achieves a better balance of screen brightness, clarity, glare(-reduction) and protection.

Knowing that I have a second piece of BROTECT in the twin-pack to go back to if I so choose, without having to pay up again or wait a couple of weeks for delivery from Germany, makes that a more palatable course of action than if I had only bought a single piece.
