Steps counting error

I went for a long walk yesterday (Sunday 24/04/16) I did around 24,000 steps for the entire day. I recorded this walk as a hiking activity.

My Forerunner 235 has sync'd multiple times, including today's steps (Monday 25/04/16) but has put Sunday's steps as zero on some screens, but as 24,000 on other screens. I have attached screenshots to show this. All screenshots are taken at the same time, the FR235 was sync'd over 24hours ago and has been sync'd multiple times since and shown all other data with the exception of he steps.
The recorded activity, distance and all others bits of information have been recorded and show on the garmin connect application.

On image 1 below on the 30 day chart at the bottom you can see Sunday shows zero steps

On image 2 below you can see my total for the week is 51k, but this does not include Sunday

Image 3 below shows April 24th (Sunday) as having zero steps.

Weirdly when I click on April 24th as shown in image 3, it brings up image 4, which shows my steps count from Sunday.

Images 1-3 show errors on those screens and image 4 shows the only correct screen.
  • I actually had this happen last weekend too. I have a daily 10,000+ steps streak going. On MY DAY snapshot it showed correctly (11,000-ish), but on the STEPS snapshot it only showed 2000-ish steps. On the list that shows daily totals (by date), it showed the wrong low number, but like yours when I clicked on the day, it showed the correct number. I synced multiple times, rebooted the phone/watch and it didn't help. Finally I decided to check online at Connect IQ. It was correct there, so at least I knew that the data existed. Fortunately, when I checked my phone app later, all looked good again. I don't know how exactly, but I assumed that something I did on the website had updated my phone app.

I had the same thought as you and logged into Garmin Connect through the website but unfortunately it hasn't resolved the steps issue.

I think I'll try sync'ing using the cable next and see if that works.

Also tried to sync with the cable now and no change.

    Something Garmin should look into.
  • It is happening the same for me (I have already replied in another thread here).
Since last sunday I have lost already two days of steps. What's going on?

Luckily it is only the one day for me. But like you it was a large amount of steps and would have been my record. Perhaps it is large numbers of steps it is struggling with?

Actually it looks like it is happening only on running days. I haven't run on Monday and Tuesday and did not have any issue.
So it is either the number of steps or the activity that breaks steps count.

In addition to this, if on GC I go to see my daily recap for heartbeat, sleep and so on, I cannot see anything as it states that I need to sync my watch
