WHR (Wrist Heart Rate) / Sensor Hub firmware module 2.60

Seeing as the discussion threads on Sensor Hub (WHR – Wrist Heart Rate) firmware module v2.41 and v2.50 have been closed, and nobody has yet created a new thread for the just-released v2.60, I guess I'll do the honours. Here we go!

  • Announcement by Garmin (on 12 April 2016 at 18:34 GMT)

Changes made from version 2.50 to 2.60:
  • Increase fidelity of the all-day heart rate plot
  • Improve cadence rejection
  • Improve performance during interval activities

N.B. Firmware v4.20 for the Forerunner 230/235 was also announced separately at around the same time.

Same here: over 17 km with a HR between 84 and 89 :(

I hope that Garmin fix this issue soon. All worked well for me before the update.

The same for me, extremely disappointed

After update i used for two activites, the first gone all ok but the second is a total HR disaster!
Never had a similar problem forst of this update, it's a shame and now i'm writing a compliance mail to garmin support
what the hell engineers are supposed to release and test that kind of update?
  • I have a higher cadence (175-210) and before the update the cadence lock would happen almost 70-50% of every run...especially if running faster then Easy. Since the update things have been much better (5-20% lock)
  • Just put the watch on after not wearing it for two days and once again I'm experiencing the no HR issue. This is the third time this has happened since updating to 2.60. When I first scroll to the HR widget it does display an accurate HR. If I stay on the widget screen, after about 13 seconds the HR disappears and I see the double lines. Then after about 30 seconds it reverts back to the clock screen. Last time this happened I did a soft reset which seemed to fix it but there's no reason why I should keep having to do that. Wasn't having any issues like this before 2.60.

Garmin has received the reports or devices no longer tracking heart rate accurately/HR data missing from the beginning of the run. Our engineering team is investigating to determine the root cause, so that this can be resolved. I do apologize for the inconvenience, and as always we appreciate the feedback that has been provided.

Thanks for the response! Just want to point out that I've experienced the issue during an activity and also when just using the widget.
  • Downgrade to previous Firmware version

My question is: Can we revert to the previous ohr Firmware? And if yes then how?

    Thanks
  • Just put the watch on and the issue is back. Resetting it yesterday was obviously a very short term solution. Hope a fix is found soon.

Don't think so, at least not with 'official/final' firmwares. It is supported for beta firmwares though...
