Has killed the OHR. Nothing. Turned off and on. Nothing. No lights, no HR. Nothing.

Well done lads.
  • Updated this morning to the new software. Immediately noticed quicker and longer sampling and, minus the 72 bug after pressing the hr widget. After using it for about 4 hours now I haven't had any hour long plateaus of high hr which used to mess up my active calories for the day. I've been turning off my ohrm during the day for that reason, but chose to keep it on after update. This morning I ran to meet a friend for coffee. It was almost 3 miles there and back. I tightened the watch about one notch more than I wear it normally, and amazingly I didn't get frustrated the whole run, there and back! I used to have to play with the band for about 5 minutes, hold my arm funny to offset cadence lock, etc. Never did it lock on to cadence like it normally does! Seems that Garmin has really put some work into this update. We'll see in the long term how things play out, but I'm optimistic. Now I have an hr strap though that I paid for to replace the ohr:( Guess I'll keep using it for kettlebells anyway:) Looking forward to hearing others experiences.

Lol, can't wait to try it out but must wait! Need to recover a bit more before running again, so the plan is to go for a run tomorrow evening... Really hope this is the update we've all been waiting for and makes it finally possible for me to fully recommend this watch!

Well, after the glitch with the hub firmware not updating and then having to delete from connect and reconnect bluetooth, all is well.

I reckon this product is about ready for release...
  • 4.2+2.6 OHR has been great to me. seems to have a way better polling interval but didn't burn that much more battery if any at all. Got one of the lower RHRs I've seen, and the graph has enough detail to see that it's not just some random crazy spike. Will get the first run in later today and get to see if the cadence lock fix is as good as the rest of it has been so far.

Lots of changes now to the iOS app as well

Heart Rate, Sleep all updated in Apple Health!

I got this watch a couple of days back and was wary of all the complaints including Apple Health integration, 71-72 bpm bug and 66 bpm bug - good to see that all of them seem to be getting attention. Much pleased that there seems to be good sizeable updates to the firmware and app!
  • Just curious, can the Update be done via Garmin Connect Mobile App? I do see the info for the Device on the IOS App that Updates are available, but gives no option to proceed with the update. Do I have to update using Garmin Express? (Anyway I am going to use Garmin Express once I get home. But was wondering if updates is possible via Garmin Connect Mobile App.)

Yes although it seems to do so on its own schedule. I've not been paying attention to this board lately but this morning saw the 4.20/2.60 updates apply on my watch; it's not been computer-attached for weeks now, only syncing via bluetooth to GCM.

    Heart Rate Comparison

By chance had a performance diagnostics on the treadmill this morning. Heart rate compared very well with the electrocardiogram whenever I glanced at the monitor, within a few bpm. Very happy with the update.
  • Okay, updated, but not so happy yet.

HR seems very unrelyable. rest HR is now below 40, normally mid 40.

Mine was showing RHR of 35 for the first little while after I installed the update, but it latched onto that number within minutes of being on my wrist... most likely just a faulty reading during initialization, because overnight it corrected itself up to 45, which is what my RHR has been measured as in hospital.

    so far so good

I did my run today without my music I usually use to keep my cadence up. Therefore my cadence drifted down into the 160s, and my hr drifted up in to the 160s. This is normally a guaranteed cadence lock, but not today. And the 24/7 hr actually bears some resemblance to reality! So far i''m happy with the update.
