Has killed the OHR. Nothing. Turned off and on. Nothing. No lights, no HR. Nothing.

Well done lads.
  • If Garmin Express does not show you that you have a sensor hub update available we can send the Sensor Hub update through WebUpdater. If you do not have Webupdater installed on your computer you can get the program here.

You should see an update available for the sensor hub in this program. Report back if the lights do not turn back on after updating the sensor hub.

    Yes that advice helped.

    RHR way to low

I seem to get inaccurate HR reading now. Way to low. My RHR went from normal 40-43 to 30 and i often see my HR being under 40 although i'm awake and moving around.
  • Anyone can help to give full review on this latest firmware update about HR accuracy?
The behaviour of the Heart Rate widget and how captured data is presented may have changed in firmware v4.20, but this update does not alter the accuracy of the readings returned by the FR235's optical HR sensor; that is the responsibility of the WHR/Sensor Hub module which is logically separate.

    wont connect to phone anymore

I got both 4.2 and 2.6. Now the bluetooth connection between watch and phone won't reconnect after power cycling both... hope it's a temporary issue.

was this sorted? noticed this morning that the phone and fr235 doesnt connect after the update. so wondering if this is a general issue.

deleted the device and tried to pair again, keeps coming back with "Connecting to device failed" - so yes, definitely an issue.!

Hmmm, updated watch last evening... Phone was off during the night. Was able to sync without issues this morning...

Will check in a bit (charging the watch atm) if it still works. Also restarted the watch in the meantime.

    *Edit*

After toggling bluetooth on phone on and off again I now have connection again... So seems to be working fine here. Hardly using bluetooth myself though (I sync using the cable because it takes ages with bluetooth and don't use agenda/alerts stuff, but will leave it on for now to see how it works).

Okay, updated, but not so happy yet.

HR seems very unrelyable. rest HR is now below 40, normally mid 40.
even after return of a short run it goes to 35 or somehere there. after a while it climbs up and shows a value that seems more accurate.
i ran for 15 minutes, with an uphill part HR below 130, which i don't believe (should be around 140-145).
i tried a short speed-part, but hr follows really really slow. long after return to slow-pace hr is going up and reports the speed-part.
    useless i would say.
i must say i always wear a strap when doing interval-trainings, so i'm not sure if 4.20 made things worse.

other thing i noticed: whatsapp messages are now displayed on my screen.
before 4.20 i only got the envelop to point me at a received message.
and i got a "you have to move" (in Dutch) for the first time. It came up right after i walked to get my cup of coffee, so that's strange as well... didn't walk long enough?

Left my hr strap at home after update, and didn't regret it!

Updated this morning to the new software. Immediately noticed quicker and longer sampling and, minus the 72 bug after pressing the hr widget. After using it for about 4 hours now I haven't had any hour long plateaus of high hr which used to mess up my active calories for the day. I've been turning off my ohrm during the day for that reason, but chose to keep it on after update. This morning I ran to meet a friend for coffee. It was almost 3 miles there and back. I tightened the watch about one notch more than I wear it normally, and amazingly I didn't get frustrated the whole run, there and back! I used to have to play with the band for about 5 minutes, hold my arm funny to offset cadence lock, etc. Never did it lock on to cadence like it normally does! Seems that Garmin has really put some work into this update. We'll see in the long term how things play out, but I'm optimistic. Now I have an hr strap though that I paid for to replace the ohr:( Guess I'll keep using it for kettlebells anyway:) Looking forward to hearing others experiences.

Can the Update be done via Garmin Connect Mobile App?

Just curious, can the Update be done via Garmin Connect Mobile App? I do see the info for the Device on the IOS App that Updates are available, but gives no option to proceed with the update. Do I have to update using Garmin Express? (Anyway I am going to use Garmin Express once I get home. But was wondering if updates is possible via Garmin Connect Mobile App.)
