ANT+ Sensor pairing problems

I've just bought my wife a new 230 and I'm having some problems getting sensors to pair with it.

I was all set to return it thinking there was a problem until I finally managed to get her HRM paired by using the Recovery Advisor menu. (It wouldn't detect it at all using the Sensors and Accessories menu).

However, I'm still having problems getting a Footpod and a Tempe connected.

The Footpod is definitely active (my Fenix 3 sees it just fine) but even holding the watch to the footpod it doesn't detect it.

Similarly with the Tempe, I've had the sensor sat on top of the watch for over 20 minutes and nothing. (Fenix 3 again sees it just fine).

I've tried hard resetting the 230 but it didn't help.

Has anyone got any advice?

    Hi there. Trust me, you are not alone with this problem.

    After a month trying every suggestion I could find online, I gave up and send it to Garmin to be checked. The funny part was that while on firmware 3.30 it could find the footpod, but after upgrading to 4.10 it couldn´t.

    I had deleted the footpod and HR from the paired list after the upgrade, with the recovery trick it found the HR again, but there was no solution for the footpod.

    Garmin Brazil asks for a month to go and come back, so i´ll have to wait now.

  • Is anyone else brave enough to delete their paired footpod/tempe and try and re-add in 4.10 to confirm this?

    Sorry for not having good news. I just recieved the message that Garmin replaced my 230 and is sending a new one.

    I've been chatting with Garmin support over the last few days too and a replacement is on the way also. As it was only a week old though I've just sorted it through Amazon as the process was much quicker.

    second forerunner 230 and still wont pair.

    Ive had my forerunner 230 replaced and got one workout. Now the HR wont connect. There must be better more robust technology out there that just works?
