Forerunner 235 activity tracker/heart rate issues.

Hi everyone, I'm new to the Garmin family. I recently bought a forerunner 235 and I love the watch, however it has some major software flaws so far. I wanted to give a quick rundown of some of the issues I have had and see if anyone on here has anyway to resolve them.

The main issue came yesterday when I ran a 10k. I was sprinting almost the entire way. The heart rate monitor then only showed I had an average BPM of 96 (I don't expect an optical heart rate monitor to be extremely accurate but that's just shameful). It also drastically undercut me in my calorie burn for this activity. I burned probably close to 800 calories according to every other tracker but Garmin only showed me burning 294 calories (this could have something to do with the heart rate but I'm not sure). In addition to this I woke up this morning to see what my final calories burned was for the day and it was "less" than I when I went to bed. That's right, when I went to bed my total calories burned was around 3100 (which was still low due to the issue I talked about above) and instead of it being higher from resting calories when I woke up it said my total calorie burn was at 2900. I'm just a little frustrated how buggy this has been so far. Please help!
  • I haven't had a low bpm reading, but sometimes the 235 would pick up on my cadence and use that as HR. I found that rotating the watch 180° on my wrist solved the problem.
As far as the calorie count is concerned, I have no idea, but anyways it is not something that can be measured accurately in any case, and even if it were, it is not useful for anything.
