Bike Mode Broken: No Distance

My 235 has stopped showing distance in bike mode. It finds GPS and does display speed. [I have no paired cycling sensors FWIW]. Is this a known issue with new updates? Is there a fix?
Please help, I purchased the 235 specifically because it could do running + cycling, and it worked fine for a couple of months. Version 3.30 of the firmware, auto lap set to 5 miles, I've tried changing from GPS to GPS+GLONASS.
Update: just updated to 4.10 and get the same problem.

A few people have reported no GPS track on runs and they fixed their watches by shutting them off and restarting. If you see the issue again try that and see if it fixes it

Update (Fixed By Upgrade)

So the update to newer Firmware does seem to have fixed it. Also, FWIW, during the time this was not working, my runs do not show GPS tracks on Garmin Connect, though distance and pace was calculated and displayed while I was running. In Strava, they show up as 'treadmill' runs and the bikes show up as 'indoor trainer' (I don't have a treadmill or an indoor trainer, so I've no idea why this happened, hope it doesn't happen again).

I am also finding that the Garmin 235 reads 0.5 mile less than then Garmin Edge. I have reported this to Garmin with the .fit files but yet to receive a response

Where's your speed coming from GPS or a speed sensor. If it's GPS then it the ride is long you might see that sort of discrepancy. If it's from a speed sensor then check your wheel size is set correctly.

Both units where working from GPS Glonass. The distances were two rides of 5.5 miles on the mountain bike and the 35 miles on the road bike and all were 0.5 miles difference from each other which to me does not make sense.
