Thanks for clarifying, based on the above comment it seems like the alerts are now functional in workouts too?

That is correct. The target alerts that you set when creating the custom workouts are now working correctly.
  • I'm getting sync errors too. It won't sync to my desktop Mac or my phone (Nexus 6). Garmin Express on the Mac says there are multiple files that can't be uploaded and suggests I delete them manually.

I stated getting sync errors on my FR230. I finally got it to stop giving sync errors but I now have my activity tracking is being reported out in the future by ~6 hours. All of this started after the firmware update to 4.10. I posted more details in the 230 forum.

Just after install it shows 66 BPM and never changes - before there was no once any chance to catch the bug^-( Nothing helps - even hard reset.

I had the same, but a restart of the device seems to have fixed the problem.
  • this isnt an 'issue'. its a deliberately added function, apparently at the request of users.

personally i hate it and would love the option to disable it during workouts

I wouldn't have a problem normally, but they don't line up! My workout laps are 1 mile long. My autolap is 1 mile long. Why is it they beep 2 seconds apart?? Thats the frustrating part.

If they set it so that a workout step completion reset the lap regardless, then autolap would always track from that lap "press" and they would always sync up. This way any workout steps longer than your autolap would (correctly) autolap in line with your settings.

It makes no sense that two laps running concurrently start and stop at different times. very weird!
  • Do i need to recalibrate after firmware update for treadmill runs?

My watch was off by 2 minutes per mile for a treadmill run today. Does it need to be recalibrated by running outside after a firmware update?

FWIW, just finished a 10k easy run and everything synced fine through my iPhone and GC app.

  • Same here, 7.5k run last evening and no issues syncing here...

Heartrate seemed to be fine, no cadence locks.
  • Not perfect, but activities actually do get sync'ed

I sync'ed a 5km ‘run’ using Garmin Connect Mobile on Windows Phone, and again although the activity was actually uploaded, the Activities counter on the My Day snapshot did not update (and continued to display ‘––’ for an hour after that); when I tapped on the nil Activities counter, I could see the run at the top of the sorted-in-descending-chronological-order list, and could bring up the details when I tapped on it.
  • Sync Issue but noticing other improvements

I did suffer a sync issue. It started failing 100% of the time to my iPhone 6s after the update. I removed the FR235 and paired it back up with no issues since.

    - I have noticed the HRM keeps up better with my Polar since the update. I have been using them together every single training session (biking) and noticed it catches up faster now when doing intervals. I would venture to guess around 2x faster which is a major improvement.

    - No cadence locks

    - Sleep tracking appears to me more accurate now. Since the update I have not had to edit my sleep.

    Steps count

My steps count & distance seem to be a lot higher today (after the update)

    Anyone else seeing that?
