Sensor Search

Just out of curiosity, does anyone know how long the 235 will search for a sensor? I wear an external HR strap and I just installed speed and cadence sensors on my bike. I'm away from home and I'm borrowing a friends bike for a ride. I noticed once I started "Bike" as an activity, my watch is searching for all three sensors. Is this similar to searching for a lost Bluetooth connection and going to cause a battery drain if I were to go on a ride for a couple of hours? Would the watch continue to search if a battery died in any of the sensors? Any experience or insight into this would be appreciated.
  • I believe it's something like 2 minutes from the activity start.

Where did you find this info, or is it something that just "rings a bell"? I went on a 3hr bike ride with GPS and my watch seems to have used about 5-10% more battery life than normal. I'm just wondering if the extra battery usage was due to searching for the sensors or something completely different.
  • I believe I was told by Garmin support. I just searched for the email but can't find it at the moment but my memory is pretty good on stuff like this.

Trouble getting 235 to connect to my garmin cadence sensor on my bike

I have tried everything, and can not get it to connect to my bike sensor.....anyone have any tips. It is connected to the 910 but can't get it to connect to 235!!
    HELP!!!
  • Which bike sensor? Pairing is through proximity so hold the watch to the sensor for upto about 15 secs. If it's a speed/cadence speed turn the wheel a few times to wake the sensor first
