I'm having an issue where the HR zones when doing a training plan workout do not work. For instance, HR Zone 2 for me is 130-155. When doing a Zone 2 workout the watch constantly buzzes me when my heart rate is in the 130's saying it is too high. If I look down, it says I'm in Zone 4. I've checked the settings within Connect and the zones are listed correctly and I've re-sent them to the device. It doesn't work. It constantly says I'm in Zone 4 when it should be 2. It even says Zone 5 as my HR approaches 150. Why is this happening?
Have you a setting on the 235 where you have to elect to use custom heart rates? Just sending them to the device is often not enough. You have to choose to use them on the device.
I finally found that section of the watch. Obviously, the settings were completely wrong. I have no idea how they got they way. I hit reset to default and those numbers didn't match anything that applies to me either (as expected). I had to manually set the zones via % of Max so that it matched Garmin Connect. This seems like an oversight and I can't believe more people aren't talking about it.
