I've been wearing my 235 almost 24/7 and doing outdoor activities, lifting, cleaning, fixing my house... no scratches yet. So I believe it comes down to; what is the "risk" of scratches. For a car mechanic/plumber it might be a good investment... but for me. Not really.
Currently £1.69 for 6. I'm still on the first one. Only slight marks on the protector so far. Easy to put on and barely noticeable. Give them a try. Nothing to lose for that price :-)
Just to be safe, I ordered screen protectors so I had them from day 1 as I've scratched several other plastic watch faces (Suunto). They are Zagg brand film and I ended up getting protection and a big jump in screen readability. I ordered from a seller called "standingo" on Ebay and couldn't be happier. Link below:
Only comes with 2 protectors but the seller is super fast on communication and my shipment arrived in 4-5 days (and I'm overseas). These have a very slight ripple effect to them which makes the screen readable at very off angles where with out it the screen wasn't very visible unless almost looking directly at it under various indoor conditions without the backlight on.
Anyhow, highly recommended for the very inexpensive price.
Search for a screen protector for a 220 and you'll get a whole lot more hits. The 235 has a larger viewable screen but they have the same size crystal(or darn close) so the 220 protectors are identical. Worked for me
