Time in HR zones is wrong

I find that the time in zone summary reports wrongly. I seem to spend most of my time in Z5, buy this isn't borne out by HR graphs. The zones are entered correctly in GCM. Any ideas?

  • Try checking that your heart rate zones (and max/min HR) are also set correctly on the 235. I have had times where the values on GC and 235 were not the same.
From your graph it looks like the max could possibly be set somewhere around 145-150 or the z5 value is set lower than you are wanting.
Time in zone is working properly for me on 3.3 btw.

The zones on the 235 can only be set via Garmin connect or Garmin connect mobile. GC shows the correct values
  • Not quite true according to the manual page 4.

What values do you have on your Garmin? Are they the same as on GC? Have you selected to use them on your Garmin? You may have to select something like Custom instead of default to get your Garmin to use your heart rate zones.

  • Thanks, checked zones on watch they are different to GC zones so reset on watch. I thought GC synced zone info to watch. Looks like it doesn't.
  • How do you check the heart zones on the watch?

    Thanks

Really...?! AshleyGardner just mentioned how to do that only two posts earlier...

I read what's been said and I know where to set the heart rate zones on GC. But what is happening to me is that although I have sync my watch multiple times when upload my runs to GC the time in zones is not right. I think GC or the watch isn't assuming the values I set on GC.

When @kerlaz says that checked zones on watch they are different to GC zones so reset on watch. I would like to know how to check the zones on watch.

    Thanks

  • I was experiencing the same issue and found out the heart rate zones on the 235 were incorrect. It's strange behaviour. Why would anyone set different heart rate zones on the watch and GCM?
I would presume entering the zones in GCM or Garmin Connect would sync everything across all platforms?
