Training calendar sync

Has anyone had any success syncing a training calendar to their 235? I still can't figure it out.

I've logged into Garmin Connect on my PC and selected a 10k training program which populated my calendar with workouts. I then opened GC on my cell (Samsung S6) and my workouts show up on the calendar. However, even after syncing to my 235, nothing shows up in my 235. If I go to Menu > Training > Training Calendar it says "Download your training calendar from Garmin Connect." So what step am I missing that sends my calendar to my FR 235?

    I did it, I had the same problem as you are having now, so to send the training program, go to the calendar in the Garmin Comnect website and in the little arrow button at the top right corner click and select 'send training sessions to your device' or something like that I am not sure because I use Garmin Connect in another language, not in English.

    It does not matter if you do that in a tablet and you do not have Garmin Express installed because after doing that your training sessions can be also trasferred to your device through Garmin Connect mobile app by bluetooth.

    Thank you for the suggestion, but I don't have that option on the GC website. On my Front Page Dashboard, there is a little gear icon in the top right corner of the calendar widget but that just has week/month view, go to full page, and remove options. And if I go to the full page calendar view there are no little icons on the top right. Rather strange that it works for you and not me. You said yours isn't displayed in English, maybe this feature is not fully implemented in the US yet...sigh

    Are you sure training is in calendar?
    Do you use GC on your PC?

    I have English as a language (not sure which one - us or UK), the button is there

  • Firefox issue

    It's an issue with Firefox. I tried GC with IE 10 and the arrow is in the top right corner of my calendar page. Thank you all for the help. Boo to Garmin for not being compatible with Firefox :mad:

  • Not a Firefox issue, I think - More of a usability thing.

    FYI to the community... The arrow appears fine for me in version 47 of Firefox... I just didn't know that it was necessary to click on the darn thing in order to send the workouts to my watch. I thought that this was exactly the type of thing that a generic sync would accomplish, and didn't realize that there was a separate step needed to send the workouts from the calendar to my watch.

    Potential Solution

    If you are still having this problem, I may have a potential solution.

    While using Google Chrome browser, I ran into the same problem as you. For me, I had to disable adblock plus extension of Google Chrome before I was able to see the arrow on top right side of the page.

    Hopefully this helps others who are having the same problem.

    Unfortunately for me, my watch just recently decided to do this. Oddly enough, it does take me through the whole process of syncing, AND it actually does sync the workouts to my watch (FR 230). But I still get the same "Download your training calendar from Garmin Connect" message on my watch. It's the strangest thing, as it was working just fine, and it is syncing the individual workouts. It just doesn't want to add them as calendar items. And to clarify, this is definitely from the calendar page in Connect, clicking on the transfer button, it confirming that it'll be sending specific workouts for specific days, and the watch clearly doing a sync. I even just went through the trouble of doing a reset to default settings on my watch, just in case that was the issue. No dice.

    It's not a critical issue, as I can just select the workouts from the My Workouts section. It's just odd that it suddenly stopped working, and a bit annoying, since it's now a few extra button presses to get to the right workout.

    Training Calendar will not download...!!

    Well this is definitely not a coincidence...
    I have exactly the same problem as the thread before...
    As of yesterday, out of a sudden, my 235 will not receive training calendar activities from Garmin connect. Until yesterday Workouts were saved in Workouts and calendar activities under the respective tab. But not anymore... Now calendar activities are saved as workouts, which is annoying and NOT THE SAME!!! For example they are not checked when the activity is done, and they are harder to be found and selected, and they need to be deleted afterwards...
    I have tried RESET and MASTER RESET (which was a big mistake since I lost all my history and data on my watch, for nothing... BTW why isn't there an option for all the data stored in Garmin Connect, to be transferred to the watch??).

    I am using Mac OS and I am sure there was a recent update to Garmin Express, which might be the cause of the problems...

    Any advice or help would be greatly appreciated!!!

    Garmin (or Apple) people, please do something about it!!!
  • The same happens here. Since yesterday sync with calendar is not working anymore. Garmin Express seems to send the files to the 235 (Files beginning with "workout_" show up in the folder NEWFILES, but somehow they don't make it into the calendar on the device.
