I am going to cross country ski tomorrow and use my watch for this activity for the first time. I think cycling wound be the best activity to select rather than other since I want the GPS tracking. Make sense?
Doesn't really matter which profile you use. As long as GPS is enabled the watch will record the same data regardless of what profile is selected. It's possible to turn GPS on for the Other profile anyway.
The real reason for having profiles is to allow you to have different default data screens set up for different activities so that you don't have to change your setup when switching from using speed when going for a ride and pace when running.
