It happened twice to me, that steps at midnight do not reset.
So for example, steps on monday are correct, but on tuesday starts with the steps from monday.

I have had this issue twice. The first time was last Tuesday. Monday was correct and Tuesday was incorrect. I contacted support and somehow my time zone was changed to the incorrect zone. I then had the problem today. Monday's steps are incorrect but Sundays are correct. I double checked the time zone and it is correct. So I have no idea what the issue is. I suspect some type of time zone issue because it says I had steps at 4am when I was definitely in bed sleeping.
