Charging Issue ??

Put my 235 on charge tonight using cable and usb power supply which I have used before. First time since most recent update.

The unit does not appear to be charging although when the USB is simply transferred to a computer it changes display and appears to start charging. Have tried two power supplies and same results.

Has anyone else noticed this anomaly ??? Should the screen change on an external usb power supply ?

Are you connected to a computer while charging with the USB? I tried using a "universal" wall USB charger and it didn't work for me.
  • If it's a USB charger, but not an actual computer, then it doesn't show that it's recharging, but it is, in the background. If you hit the Running person button (top right) does the battery symbol there show it is charging? That's what I do for a sanity check.
  • I've charged my 235 from a variety of USB "universal" wall chargers and it's worked perfectly fine.

With the default watch face, the battery icon changes to one with a lightning bolt and the % charge is displayed above it as the indicator the watch is charging. The watch remains usable; the display doesn't change to what you see when connected to a computer.

I don't know if third party watch faces behave similarly. Is it possible you have a watch face that doesn't display charging status and it's actually charging?
  • I have had this issue, see my post.......

I have found that it would not charge with one type, an 'engerizer' portable power supply, would come up as chraging for a minute or two then stop.....

I have now bought another type, much cheaper! petrol station, portable power supply and it now works!

This is not actually a fault, it is to do with the charger/power supply switching itself off if it does not see a significant draw and i assume the 235 doesnt draw enough power to keep the charger switched on!

I was actually going to post a question asking if I can use my iPhone wall charger. It's kind of a pain to plug into my MacBook all the time.

Anyone else try using an iPhone wall charger?
