In case you missed this.

Seems OK for me.

    Thanks, Andy!

Go to the HR widget. Press and hold the up-arrow until you get the settings menu. Turn the HRM off. Back out back to the clock by using the back arrow button. Press and hold the power/light button for about 15 seconds, until the screen fades into nothing. Wait a minute or so. Press the power/ light button for about 3 seconds until you see the "Garmin" logo on the screen, then release. Let the watch boot up. Go back into the HRM widget settings and turn the HRM back to "auto".

The above has got me out of the locked HR problem. My watch just did it, and I'm on 2.41...are you reading this Garmin, fix this garbage, please!

Andy - Thank you! After weeks of being locked on "66" for the heart rate, your procedure did release my watch. Previous power cycling, software updates, etc. had not helped (since FW 3.20 auto updated on Garmin Express).

I enjoy my watch significantly more! Thanks again.

Could It be useful also for cadence-lock bug?
  • That FW didn't fix the heartrate stuck bug, just experienced it. Flat lined at 72 beats for a few hours. Switched the watch off and on to bring it back to work.

Well, it was worth a try. I hope they get you taken care of. -Andy

Garmin called me directly Monday morning and arranged for my "stuck on 66 bpm" watch to be shipped back to Garmin HQ via next-day shipping for their engineers to evaluate, so I sense there is a sense of urgency to get this problem resolved once and for all.

    This fix does not work

I updated the firmware, but my watch still stuck... I also tried the method proposed by arikanoandy, but also without success...
  • A later "release" version of the WHR software - 2.50 is now out.

Suggest connect to Garmin Express to get the update.

THX, I'm on 2.41_Beta now, but no update on Express...I need to wait or I need to upload 2.40 before?

Strange. Was available to me and I was on 2.41 beta?
  • Mine updated from the beta over Bluetooth last night.
