My Garmin lost its bluetooth signal and will not sync

Hope to get some help with this issue: my Garmin is brand new. It synced and paired with my phone well till two days ago when it stopped. The bluetooth symbol disappeared from the upper menu! Since then I can't pair with my phone any more. I tried to restore original defaults, but nothing happened.
Any ideas? Thanks!

Have you just installed the latest firmware by any chance? I've been reading about some bluetooth connection issues after the upgrade.
  • have you tried killing the Garmin Connect Mobile app on your phone and restarting it?

Whenever I've had bluetooth issues it's more often been the GCM app than the watch (whether 235, fenix3, or 920xt).

Also try rebooting the phone and the watch at the same time.

I killed and uploaded the Garmin connet, and rebooted the Garmin. I may have installed the a new software version of the Garmin...:(

I'm having a similar issue. It will simply lose connection - Bluetooth is on on both devices, and the app is running, but they will not connect. Once it gets into this state it is quite difficult to resolve

I've tried restarting the watch and the app, and restarting the phone. After multiple attempts at these things it will connect again - for a while. I've not found the pattern of things that enables it to reconnect yet.

Had this happen to me a couple of times. To resolve I had to do this. In this order.

    Delete pairing on phone.
    Restart phone.
    Restart watch.
    Re-pair phone with Bluetooth.
Launch app and wait for connect.

I'm guessing there is a Bluetooth software stack crash somewhere because I noticed that the pairing which used to say "Forerunner 235" changed to "nRFxxxxx" which is the Bluetooth chipset in the watch I'm guessing.

I'm having the same issue, have tried everything apart from restarting the watch.

How do I restart the watch please.

    :(
  • Turn it off via the power button, then turn it back on.

Have you read the manual? If not, start here: http://www8.garmin.com/manuals/webhelp/forerunner235/EN-US/GUID-54D81B08-3357-45DE-9104-3165D846C478.html
  • to restart just press the upper left button untill it will ask you to power down.

Cheers found it, all sorted, paired, synced, long run uploaded!

First time I've had to switch off the watch.
