A few questions regarding 235

I am currently using Garmin 225 and looking for upgrading to 235 but not sure if it worthy it.

* Does the new HR sense work as good as 225?
* How flexible can we config the notification with smart phone? any app or only certain app? What I am interested are phone, sms, email, calendar, alarm and a few messenger apps.
* How flexible is the alarm? Can we set alarm from Garmin connect app in smart phone? Garmin connect website? or only in 235 itself? Can we set alarm for every Monday etc?
* What CUSTOM APPS are available for 235? What apps are actually useful?

Thanks!

    1) No idea
    2) Depends on if you have android or iOS.
    3) 3 alarms, that can be set for daily, weekdays, weekends, or once. They are set using the watch. Then there are alerts while timing an activity...
    4) see https://apps.garmin.com/en-US/, and click on the 235. I find many of them useful, especially the ones I wrote! :) Seriously, it really depends on what you want to do. Lot's of watchfaces, and lots of stuff if you're a runner, that expands on the stuff built into the watch. Other things that can expand the types of things you can record (such as hiking).....

    1. Nope, doesn't seem to... 225 uses the Mio sensor, which works fine afaik, the 235 uses Garmins own sensor which seems like a major WIP and doesn't work as great at all
    2. No experience
    3. No experience
    4. You can check for yourself, what is usefull depends on you (I like 'find my car' and custom watch faces mainly) https://apps.garmin.com/en-US/devices/forerunner235/apps

    1) can't compare to a 225. I had pretty good results so far (see my signature). Some seem to have good and others bad results. Best to see for yourself (return policy)!
    2) On iOS it notifies everything that is turned on in iOS notifications, that's why I don't se this feature. I hear on android you can configure this in the app.
    3) not using alarms
    4) see this thread: https://forums.garmin.com/showthread.php?338174-Favourite-Connect-IQ-apps-tell-the-world!

Have done a few runs with both the 225 and 235 on and they were almost identical. The 225 was smoother with the chart afterwards but that may be down to the software calculating what is shown. I am sure the 235 will get smoother over time as they update the firmware. It has already improved since the first comparison.

Just another question.... Is in 235 something similar to polar like : I want to run 5 km in 25m 16s and the screen shows you how over or bellow are you acording to this ?

The watch itself doesn't by default, but you can download free extra data fields from the Connect IQ store that does this, along with lots of other stuff.

There is a "Finish Time" function as part of the standard firmware. Tell it you want to run 5K (or whatever) and it will tell you the estimated finish time.
As stated, they are other variations on this theme in what has been developed within Connect IQ.

    This is very useful forecast.

I'd caution against getting your hopes up. The couple of times I've used the CIQ variants of this function I had disappointing results.

I believe the trouble stems from two main things. First is how rare it is that anyone runs the exact stated race distance in a real world race; people typically end up running a little bit further. Second is that these seem to assume an even pace for the remainder of the race, and thus don't account for things like uneven terrain. On my last half marathon the final two miles were uphill, which you can imagine threw off the figures a fair bit.
