Keep receiving the same "smart" notifications on iOS - any tips?

Started using the 235 a few days ago and i'm seeing something strange happening with notifications.

I do receive real-time notifications on all apps in sync with my iPhone but in addition, two or three times a day, I receive a stream of several notifications for emails that were already in my inbox and for which I already received a notification on my 235.
This happens with the original firmware I had (3.1 I believe) as well as 3.30 just released.

Has anyone encountered that and have you found a workaround?

  • I have seen this as well, happening on the built in ios app mail. Not happening on ex outlook app. Hope someone has a fix for us.

    I have seen this too!

    I am seeing the same issue. I have narrowed it down to when I unlock my phone, all of the notifications repeat themselves. Not sure if this is an iPhone issue or a Garmin issue. Is kind of annoying.

    It doesn't happen when my FR235 is connected to the Garmin Connect Mobile app running on my iPad.
  • I get this same issue too, I've sometimes had 20 coming through at the same time, which isn't fun to my wrist! And yes I think it mostly happens when unlocking the phone, still blo0dy annoying though!

    I really like the 235, but this issue drives me crazy. Like everyone else, whenever I unlock my iphone I get 10-15 random notifications of "old" emails.

    Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

    I have the same issue on the 230. I would really appreciate a solution to this annoying issue.
  • Have you guys cleared the notifications (either individually in the Notifications widget on your watch, or individually/en masse in the Notifications Centre on your iOS device)? If the notifications remain in the device's Notifications Centre, they will reappear in the Notifications widget on your watch upon Bluetooth disconnection and reconnection (but won't sound a tone or generate a buzz).
